CLEs
At Acclivity, we believe that continuing legal education should do more than satisfy credit requirements—it should equip lawyers to meet the emotional and ethical demands of modern practice. Our CLEs go beyond traditional topics to explore the intersection of law, mental health, and trauma. Whether you're navigating burnout, working with high-conflict clients, or confronting ethical dilemmas in emotionally charged cases, our programs are here to help.

Each course is rooted in trauma-informed principles and built with real-life lawyering in mind. We integrate relevant professional rules, offer practical tools, and use compelling scenarios to make the material both engaging and applicable. Our goal is to support lawyers not just as professionals—but as people.

"Lawyers train for years to be experts in the law, to do something that no other field can do. And yet, about half experience burnout and many leave the field early because of the stress inherent in the legal process and the work done with clients who are living in a space of elevated stress.

The good news is, there are skills that can be learned and applied to reduce the stress, tension, and fatigue lawyers face. One reason I co-founded Acclivity was to equip lawyers with the skills needed to manage the complex emotions of clients while preserving their mental and emotional wellness, enabling then to continue in the field they have worked and sacrificed for. As I have worked with lawyers who have implemented these strategies, I have witnessed an increase in their ability to balance professional workloads, interact with challenging clients with greater success, and build a more fulfilling practice. It really can get better."

Our Philosophy
Tenacious resilience and well-being for you
Lawyers frequently prioritize their clients' urgencies above their own personal needs and underestimate the impact that the inherent stress of practicing law can have on their overall health. Lawyers' mental health must be prioritized to avoid burnout.
Thoughtful communication and appropriate boundaries with clients
Lawyers engage with clients at some of life's most emotionally charged moments, such as fighting for their freedom, navigating child custody battles, or experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one. Clients may be grappling with stress, trauma, suicidal thoughts, abuse, or more. We believe that lawyers who anticipate these challenges and who build skills to communicate with and counsel such clients appropriately can greatly reduce the stress that is often associated with representing them.
Effective collaboration with other professionals
Lawyers frequently engage with various professionals, both within and beyond the legal realm. We believe that lawyers who can successfully collaborate with other professionals are more effective and resilient.
