In the daily practice of law, you’re not just navigating statutes and proceedings—you’re holding space for complex human experiences. At Acclivity, we believe continuing education should address the whole lawyer, not just the law. That’s why we’re proud to bring you live, interactive CLE sessions that go beyond the black letter—and why Virginia requires them every year.
Live CLEs: Where Real Learning Meets Real Connection
Engaging and Interactive Our live webinars are more than lectures—they’re conversations. Whether exploring Trauma & Ethics or Managing Difficult Clients, you'll gain real-time insights and strategies you can use immediately. For example, our 1-Hour Live CLE helps you navigate challenging client behaviors—like the “Ghoster” or “The Clinger”—with trauma-informed empathy, professional boundaries, and self-protection. Meanwhile, our 2-Hour Live CLE offers ethics credit while showing you how trauma—yours and your clients’—can pose hidden ethical risks. This session gives you tools to spot and mitigate those risks before they escalate.
Expert Guidance, Thoughtful Delivery Co-led by Dr. Rebecca Mathews (Clinical Associate Professor and mental health specialist) and Lisa Mathews, Esq.—a Virginia law firm leader and adjunct family law professor at George Mason University—our trainings fuse clinical insight and legal experience authentically.
Convenient, Accessible, and Human-Centered Join us over Zoom where every attendee has a chance to reflect and learn. These sessions offer the toolkit that law school often leaves out—and students won’t find in dusty textbooks.
The Virginia Live CLE Requirement: Keeping Practice Dynamic and Discerned
Staying legally sharp requires more than clocking hours—it means engaging with the complexities of ethical practice. In Virginia, every active attorney must complete at least 4 credit hours of live, approved CLE each reporting year, as well as at least 2 hours of ethics or professionalism. (VSB) And the deadline is coming up – October 31st!
These are not optional extras—they’re essential for license maintenance, thoughtful practice, and professional resilience. And live CLEs offer far more than compliance—they offer community, insight, and ethical clarity.
